What is Pilates?

Pilates workout means that you will strengthen your core muscles from the inside and out. You will increase your mobility. Breathing is central and you will breath in a way that allows you to use your body more intelligent. Pilates will improve your posture and therefore you feel better!

Pilates founder, Joseph Pilates, developed the method in the early 1900s that he initially called Contrology but later came to be called Pilates. He worked in New York. People who search for his help were professional dancers, athletes, actors and socialites who wanted to strengthen their bodies.  Over the years the method has devolved and nowadays there are various forms of Pilates schools with different pedagogical approaches.  This because we want to reach every individual’s specific fitness goals.  The classical Pilates instruction is still following the method Joseph Pilates taught.

We are working with STOTT PILATES®  which incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and improvement of your athletic performance.
